Masterbuilt Portable Charcoal Grill - Assembly - Timelapse

Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 - Pulled Pork
Переглядів 6 тис.4 роки тому
I smoked a pork butt at 250 using B&B oak briquettes and oak, cherry, and apple wood for smoke. Placed in foil pan after about 6.25 hours and covered. Cooked to an internal temp of 205 which took about 9 hours. Pulled off and let it rest for an hour before pulling in its own juices. Turned out incredibly good. I did forget to pull the foil off the last 30 minutes to let the bark set back up, bu...
Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 - Reverse Seared Steaks
Переглядів 12 тис.4 роки тому
Reverse seared steaks on the Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050. 3 NY Strips and 1 bone-in ribeye. Smoked for 30 minutes at 225° using post oak for smoke. Pulled off when internal temp hit 110° and cranked the 1050 up to 650°. Only took the 1050 6 minutes to get up to 650° from 225°. Seared on my Grill Grate for those perfect grill marks. Topped with homemade steak butter during the rest. They cam...
Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 - Chicken Leg Quarters
Переглядів 4,9 тис.4 роки тому
Quick, last minute chicken leg quarters on Easter. Seasoned with Meyer's Smokehouse Texas BBQ rub and Killer Hogs A.P. Rub. Grilled at 325° for about 45 minutes until an internal temp of about 175°. Used apple wood chunks for smoke. Skin came out fairly crispy and flavor was incredible. Not bad for a last minute cook.
Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 - First Smoke - 3 Briskets
Переглядів 79 тис.4 роки тому
I smoked 3 - 15lb Choice Angus briskets on my Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 for its first smoke. Smoked at 250° for about 13.5 hours until they were probe tender. One finished earlier than the others and was slightly charred on the bottom (possibly due to crowding of the bottom grate?). Overall, very pleased with the performance of the 1050. It held rock solid on temp for the whole cook and p...
Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 - Biscuit Hot Spot Test
Переглядів 8 тис.4 роки тому
Testing my new Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 for hot spots with biscuits. Set the cooker to 250° and added a dozen biscuits. Checked them after 10 minutes and every 5 minutes after that. All the biscuits cooked exceptionally even with no noticeable hotspots across the whole smoker.

Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 - Unboxing
Переглядів 4,8 тис.4 роки тому
Unboxing my Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050. A few thoughts... The packaging was great! My 560 had some minor damage (although the box was pristine), but the 1050 was in perfect condition. Everything was wrapped nicely to protect each component. The shipping weight was 255 lbs. The box dimensions are 44.25"Lx22.75"Wx34.35"H. Sorry about all of the noise. Also my kids (and all of the other neigh...
Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560 - Benefits of Quality Charcoal
Переглядів 2,5 тис.4 роки тому
I almost always use B&B Oak Briquettes and they're the best for the 560 in my opinion. The larger briquettes burn almost completely to ash, so there's no need for the grate mod. Additionally, you get 12 hours on a hopper compared to 6-8 hours with Kingsford or Royal Oak.
Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560 - Brisket Experiment
Переглядів 28 тис.4 роки тому
I experimented with a brisket. Normally I like to go fat down on the 560 above a water pan and cook it at 225°-250°, but this time I tried fat side up sitting on a baking sheet with a rack and cooked at 275°. I learned that I don't like any of the things that I did differently and I'll go back to my normal way of smoking a brisket on the 560. It came out delicious, but the fat cap was tough, bu...

Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560 - USB Battery Test
Переглядів 23 тис.4 роки тому
I tested running the Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560 using a USB battery with a 5v to 12v step-up converter. Total grill on time was roughly 2 hours and it performed flawlessly. This will allow you to take the 560 anywhere and be able to use it even during a power outage. Heres a link to the step-up converter I used... www.amazon.com/dp/B0796R2BH3/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_iZpjEbN0MDKA4
Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560 - Reverse Seared NY Strip Steaks
Переглядів 10 тис.4 роки тому
I reverse seared some NY Strip steaks on my Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560. Used grapeseed oil as a binder and seasoned with Bucee's Steak and Chop Rub. Smoked at 225° until an internal temp of 90°and then turned the temp up to 650° and seared for 2 minutes on each side until an internal temp of 132°. Topped with homemade steak butter and let rest.

You should have mentioned how much the pack had drained. I don't understand why you didn't include that. That would have given you/us a rough estimate.

You just need a USB PD capable battery bank. Then grab yourself a USB-C to 12V adapter similar to this. Using a standard 5V 2.4A output or 2A will give you 12W at most which might not be enough, the included DC adapter for the masterbuilt is 12V 1.5A so 18W. www.ebay.com.au/itm/373303882462

If MB claims the ceramic coating helps retain heat, wouldn’t that REDUCE fuel used instead of INCREASING it? If they say it improves your cooking time, it makes sense, but not that you would use more coal than the 560

I think it’s important to show the difference in quality between the two. Masterbuilt do not highlight this so most buyers opt for the cheaper 560 thinking it’s just grate real estate that’s the difference.

Tim Hoff - Question: With the 1050 put together and if you wanted to take it somewhere would you be able to lay it on its back on a blanket in the bed of the Truck to haul or would you have to stand it up and strap it down > Didn't know if it would hurt anything laying on its back along with taking the grates out... ? Your thoughts would help - I am going to be buying one soon...

The bottom grate closed to the fan is always gonna be hotter on these... I was gonna get one but went with a Pellet because I do 18 hour briskets and worried on refilling the box with charcoal

You can refill it as it's cooking. When it gets a little low, throw more charcoal in there and you're good to go for a while longer

Put the point on the right side, nearest the heat source. Other videos showed success with this. It protects the leaner flat from overheating.
